I work in person as well as virtual with Women in the childbearing years.

Professional History:

I have been a student of holistic and natural solutions to health problems as long as I can remember. I have always trusted in our bodies, and their wisdom to heal when given the resources. This interest in how human bodies work led me to believing I would best serve as a physician, and thus I graduated with a degree in pre-med/Human Biology in 2011. In my final year, I learned that I could support and advocate for and with women during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum time as a doula, I knew that was my calling. I have been a birth doula supporting women and families for nine years, and teaching childbirth education for five. I have supported over 300 families as a doula and/or childbirth educator since then and love the work!

In 2017 I became a certified health coach, and immediately knew I needed something… more. I found the Integrative Women’s Health Institute and have now been certified at a Women’s Health Coach (WHC), and completed the Optimal Fertility (OF) program as well.

I work with women who are considering getting pregnant in the future and who want to make sure that if and when they do they are as healthy as they can be. That their mind, body, and spirit are ready for the journey of pregnancy and parenthood.

I am currently a student through Aviva Romm’s Herbal Medicine for Women program. I hope to complete that training within the year to become a Certified Herbal Educator.

Physical Health and Wellness, LLC

Women’s Health Coaching, Yoga for movement, Pelvic Health Physical Therapy

Professional History:

Janet graduated from Temple University in 1985 and pursued her Doctorate in Physical Therapy through Evidence in Motion graduating in 2017.

With over 35 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Janet’s career has been dedicated to women’s health. Her own experiences of pregnancy, cesarean delivery, and vaginal birth after a cesarean drove her interest in pregnancy and postpartum care for women. In 1988 resources for women after delivery were basically non-existent. She pursued continuing education and became a Lamaze childbirth educator. At the same time, she participated in continuing education through the OB/GYN section of the American Physical Therapy Association, which is now the Academy of Pelvic Health. Janet has earned certifications in pelvic floor physical therapy through the Academy of Pelvic Health, Professional Yoga Therapy, Therapeutic Pain Specialist, and Women’s Health Coach through the Integrative Women’s Health Institute.

Janet’s desire for education and professional growth led her to achieving her doctorate in physical therapy in 2017. She became a lead teaching assistant with Herman and Wallace Pelvic Health Institute in 2022. She’s a speaker on women’s health issues presenting to the public and her colleagues. She’s a mentor for clinicians with an interest in pelvic health rehabilitation throughout the Philadelphia area.

Janet’s hope for her patients and clients is a healthier fulfilling lifestyle that they desire through acknowledging their thoughts and patterns of behavior while respecting their body and mind with self-care and awareness.

Phoenix Yoga and Meditation, L.L.C.

Phoenix, AZ

Through my business I enjoy working with clients looking to improve their health and wellbeing in an integrative way. Having experienced breast cancer in my mid-thirties, shortly after the birth of my second child, while going through divorce, I know a thing or two about growing from challenges and practicing self-care in the midsts of a super busy life.

Together with my clients we work on optimizing lifestyle fundamentals: Nutrition, sleep, stress management/resilience, connection, and movement. I serve as mentor, coach, and cheer leader, and share plenty of resources along the way.

Although through my work as a PT at Mayo Clinic I see patients with particular diagnoses, in my coaching work, I don’t focus on your diagnosis as much as I do your overall state of health and wellness, while integrating my knowledge on various health conditions.

I see coaching clients virtually and in person via my personal business. All physical therapy is provided at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona

Professional History including Education:

I have been practicing for over 30 years and have received my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University. I am a Board Certified Women’s Health Specialist, Yoga Teacher and Therapist, Mindfulness and Meditation Instructor, and Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.

Health coaching for women and couples who seek support to optimize their health through integrating lifestyle changes from preconception through postpartum. I am here to listen, support, and empower you. The decisions you make around your personal motherhood journey are so important.

If you are looking to…

I work with clients globally to address the nutritional and lifestyle aspect of health management, and the behavioural component required for sustained change. Healing from chronic illness I know powerful detox, nutrition, mindset and lifestyle are to live in optimal health.

Current clients include women with sugar addictions, digestive troubles, under-active thyroid, low immunity, hormone imbalance and PCOS. A common theme is chronic fatigue. I also work with men who are exhausted and or want to lose weight.

My personal and professional experience has taught me that the most profound and sustainable health outcomes occur when you commit to a period of dedicated support (ideally 3-months) that not only aims to alleviate symptoms, but treat the causes of the presenting illnesses and reduce their likelihood of recurring. To thrive, physically, emotionally and mentally.

I use a Functional Medicine approach to help you uncover the root cause of the health challenges you may be experiencing. Bringing a wealth of experience, which I couple with my training, to bring you back to Optimal Health.

It is my passion to help you feel your absolute best. To provide a safe space, the time to be heard and to get to the root cause of your health challenges.
