After several years of watching women not always achieve the functional potential in physical rehab, and personally experiencing deficits in the traditional medicine model, Dr Chikazunga-Martin shifted her career focus when she found more solutions in (CAM) and the health and wellness field. These fields offered positive, engaging and effective strategies specific to lifestyle, attitude, nourishment, restoration and movement.

In 2020, Dr Chikazunga-Martin earned national board certification as a health and wellness coach affording her a platform empowering mature women to feel whole in their skin again and live their best lives. She started practicing as a health coach five years ago, and she enjoys witnessing change happen in the women she works with through a collaborative, beneficial and strengths-based approach to change.

Her mission is to support women struggling with the pelvic system’s incredibly frustrating symptoms, including pelvic pain, hormonal imbalances through the lifespan, and postpartum recovery, who may feel as though they have exhausted all their options. Coaching sessions are engaging and judgment-free, yet effective. She uses mindful listening, metaphor, empathy and affirmations, geared toward supporting women to clarify their desires as they move toward their health goals.

She brings a high level of energy and personality to the women she works with. Dr. Chikazunga-Martin relies on an integrative alliance as a catalyst, evoking the mind-body-spirit to feel and function in better health and wellness. The Power of Presence: A Narrative Medicine Experience

Andrea Nakayama

In a clinical world that often privileges data over depth, Narrative Medicine reminds us that presence is a form of practice—and that listening is one of our most powerful clinical tools. This immersive 90-minute workshop brings together the science of Functional Medicine Nutrition and the art of Narrative Medicine to explore how story, empathy, and reflection can reshape our clinical encounters.

Guided by Andrea Nakayama—Functional Medicine Nutritionist and Founder of the Functional Nutrition Alliance—this session offers a rare opportunity to engage in the practices that cultivate curiosity, compassion, and connection. You’ll be introduced to a Narrative Medicine methodology that centers deep listening and creative engagement—tools that not only reveal what’s often overlooked in patient care, but that also re-energize our capacity to witness, hold space, and act with discernment.

What to Expect:

  • A brief orientation to Narrative Medicine and its application in clinical practice
  • Interactive reflection
  • Facilitated discussion that models how story deepens empathy and insight
  • A space to connect with your own story and the stories of others—not to fix, but to feel

Why It Matters:

Narrative Medicine builds the internal muscles of presence, which are just as essential to healing as protocols and plans. By expanding how we hear what’s being said—and unsaid—we can access a more complete picture of what’s going on in the body, the life, and the person before us.

Wednesday, October 15th from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm Eastern Time

Male Factor Infertility: Herbs to Support Testosterone & Sperm Production

Liane Moccia
When people are having trouble conceiving, the focus is often on egg quality, ovulation, and uterine health. But the data shows us that sperm issues play a role in 40%-50% of infertility cases and the current “normal” ranges of sperm parameters may not be optimal for achieving a pregnancy. An important piece of a holistic fertility plan is understanding how testosterone affects sperm production and overall health, as well as the herbs and supplements that can support healthy testosterone and sperm production. In this session we will review the common sperm parameters analyzed in a semen analysis, identify optimal ranges, and discuss herbs and supplements that have been shown to improve testosterone production, sperm quality and overall fertility.
